Clara Marie Gibson

Augsut 27, 2001-September 20, 2020

Clara at age 5 was diagnosed with MPS IIIA Sanfilipo. A rare genetic disorder where the body can't break down a certain enzyme and it kills the brain cells. There is currently no cure and most children with this strain dont even make it into their teen years. She lead a beautiful active life participating in Clinton County special olympics, A kid again, attended camp at Kamp Dovetail, active in local 4-H, Little Hearts Big Smiles and helped momma and daddy organize 5k run/1 mile walks in her name raising funds for a cure.

She changed a lot of lives in her precious time on earth. When she was 19 she passed peacefully in her sleep breaking hearts in those she left behind. We all know she's in a better place and no doubt we will meet her again but until then we have set up this memorial fund in her name. Here we will bless those in need through Kamp Dovetail where she loved attending, making new friends and catching up with old ones. Kamp Dovetail is where she and others with disabilities would spend a week doing activities like boating, fishing, horseback riding, swimming along with so many other activities. Here is where these children had the opportunity to do the things those of us take for granted. These kids look forward to this every year and these funds will ensure the camp stays up and running at its peak for these children. In Clara’s honor. It's what she would have wanted. Its what her momma and I want.
